Patch Notes 3.4.0

A redesigned Looking for Group card, a 24 hour cap on profile boost and a daily quiz that no longer fails silently.

Hey, Raphael here! 3.4.0 is a small release, a lot smaller than the console update in 3.3.0. It touches two things you use every day in the community: the card for people looking for a group, and profile boost. Here’s what changed.

What’s new

Redesigned “Looking for Group” card

The card on a looking for group post used to be a stack of small lines, with the rank buried in the middle. It now follows the look of the rank card on your profile:

  • The rank icon is big, with the rank name in the tier’s color.
  • The country flag gets the same treatment, with the name underneath.
  • Riot ID and server sit at the bottom of the card.
  • If you don’t have a rank yet, you show up as Unranked.

When you write the post, the preview shows exactly the card that will be published.

Profile boost capped at 24 hours

Each boost still adds 6 hours. What changed is that the total can’t go more than 24 hours ahead, which is four boosts. Before, you could stack days of boost and sit in first place all the time, and someone who bought a single boost never reached the top. If you’re already at the cap, the app tells you before charging your coins.

Improvements

  • The shop ad is now loaded before you open the screen, so you no longer wait for it to start.

Bug fixes

  • On August 28 the daily quiz woke up with no questions. The previous night’s generation had failed and the system didn’t retry. I restored it by hand the same day. It now retries on its own and checks that today’s quiz exists before building tomorrow’s.

That’s it. Update the app and tell me what you think of the new card. See you next time!
